Over 50 mosques were reported to have been affected, with nearly 100 people killed immediately. In the city of Sagaing, all five mosques collapsed, with four being completely destroyed.
“As we were praying, the first tremors began; some of us ran, while others just watched. The mosque’s roof collapsed, killing three people right in front of us.”
“Approximately 10 people died at a mosque… When it crumbled shortly after we called for prayer.”
Since February 2021 the country has been run by the military, sparking a civil war that has displaced 3.5 million people and left 20 million in need of aid just this year. Their suffering is ongoing, and the wounds of their injured cannot truly heal due to the war. They need assistance now!
The need for aid is so serious, the civil war is being paused so Aid can get to the devastated areas as quickly as possible.

"The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever". [Bukhari - Muslim]
