The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:
“The virtue of the scholar over the worshipper is like my virtue over the least of you. Verily, Allah, His angels, the inhabitants of the heavens and earth, even the ant in his hole and the fish, send blessings upon the one who teaches people what is good.”
[Jami` at-Tirmidhi]
Al-Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad said, “A scholar who works in teaching has a high status in the domain of the heavens.”
Being an Imam is such a blessed job, as their role is to help people become closer to Allah s.w.t.
The reality is this, some Imams struggle to feed their families and live adequately simply due to having little to no salary.
We are aware of many Imams who haven’t had a salary for more than 6 months, yet they’re still carrying out their daily duties.
This is where we as a Muslim ummah must come together to SUPPORT these pillars of the community.
